1.1 Editing an Existing Page

How to do it in Crystallize:

  • Navigate to the Catalog by clicking the book icon on the left side.
  • Navigate through the folders to find the page you want to edit.
    • Note: If it’s a subpage, you might need to open a folder inside another folder.
    • Tip: The folders correspond to the website’s path (URL structure).
  • Click on the page in the folder to open the editor.
  • Edit any of the text or images you want. (You can read more about content below.)
  • Click Save and Publish in the top right corner.

Best Practices:
✅ Double-check all links and images.

1.2 Creating a New Page

What is it?
Adding a completely new page to the website, like “About Us” or “Contact.”

How to do it in Crystallize:

  • Navigate to the Catalog by clicking the book icon on the left side.
  • Navigate to the parent folder where you want the page to live.
    • Note: If there isn’t an existing folder for the new section, you’ll need to create one first.
    • Click Create + (bottom left corner) → select Folder, give it a name, and remember to click Publish in the top right corner to make it visible.
    • Tip: The folder determines the slug/URL in the site structure.
  • Once in the correct folder, click Create + again → select Document → Page.
  • Give the page a name (for internal reference only—it does not affect the slug/URL).
  • The page editor will open, containing three main sections:
    • Hero
    • Content Section
    • SEO Section
    • (You can read more about these sections, further below.)
  • Fill in the sections you need.
  • Complete the SEO Section (meta title, description, and image).
  • Click Save and Publish when you’re ready.

Best Practices:
✅ Use clear, concise folder names to manage your URLs effectively.
✅ Fill in SEO metadata.

1.3 Editing Website Settings

What is it?
Updating site-wide elements like the logo, color theme, navbar, and footer.

How to do it in Crystallize:

  • Navigate to the Catalog by clicking the book icon on the left side.
  • Check if a folder named layout exists.
    • If not, create it:
      • Click the Create + button in the bottom left corner.
      • Select Folder and name it Layout (exact spelling).
      • Remember to click Publish in the top right corner to make it visible.
  • Open the layout folder.
  • Click the Create + button again in the bottom left corner.
  • Choose Document → Settings (or your project’s specific settings type).
  • Inside the Settings document, you can edit the following:
    • Logo: Upload or change the site’s main logo.
    • Color Theme: Update primary/secondary colors to match your branding.
    • Navbar: Add or remove navigation links, adjust order, rename links.
    • Footer: Edit text, links, or add/remove sections.
    • Languages: Choose the languages you want your pages to be available in—select them in the Language field.
  • Click Save and Publish when you’re ready.

✅ Use high-quality images.
✅ Choose color themes that match your brand.
✅ Keep the navbar clear and simple.
✅ Always select the appropriate languages in the Language field to ensure multilingual support.
